It was love at first crayon for me. Eventually developing into a hobby, an escape, and maybe an obsession too. In high school I was just as likely to be found in an art class as anywhere (or nowhere) else.
So I pursued a career in commercial art and worked my way along in various positions including production, design, art direction, creative direction, consultant, etc. I did the whole ad agency thing and the corporate thing too. And that was fun for awhile, but I began to miss my first love.
So, many (but not SO many) years later I started sniffing around the crayons again, and eventually settled on oil pastels, which are also a drawing medium. I promised my love I’d never leave again.
I work from my own photographs and while taking pictures to paint from, also happily developed a love for photography. My favorite subject matter is Mother Nature. She’s the best artist. Ever.
I work to marry my love of art and nature in my artwork. I really believe that when you do what you love for the sake of love, other people can sense it and it brings it to a higher level.
